Since 13 March 2026, in partnership with Affluences, a pilot system measuring real-time crowding levels has been in testing at the Gare Centrale stop (for trams arriving from Rotonde).
This experiment counts passengers on board the trams using a camera located on the platform at the Rotonde station, making it possible to estimate the level of crowding in each tram.
Passengers waiting at Gare Centrale can therefore position themselves on the platform near the least crowded doors and board more easily, avoiding “bottleneck” effects.

During busy periods, a better distribution of passengers inside the trams improves safety and comfort by reducing crowding and pushing.
Where can you find the crowding information on lines A and D at Gare Centrale?
Simply on the passenger information display on the platform, towards the city centre, below the waiting times.
Crowding levels are indicated using three levels:

You will then be able to board through the door where movement is the most fluid.
Enjoy your journey on our lines.
