What are the conditions for bringing animals on buses and trams?

Only the following are permitted in vehicles (Bus + Tram) :

  • guide dogs for the blind or assistance dogs accompanying people with a disability card / priority card or CMI (no muzzle allowed).
  • small pets pets suitably locked

Muzzled dogs on a short lead are permitted in authorised vehicles (Tram).

So that everyone can travel comfortably and safely, there are rules to follow : 

  • I must be kept on a short leash and a muzzle.*
    If I am small enough, I can travel in a closed basket.
    * Guide dogs and assistance dogs are exempt from wearing a muzzle (Art. L211-30 of the Rural Code).
  • If I am a dog classified as “dangerous”, I cannot get in the tram (article L211-16 of the Rural Code).
  • My owner must make sure that I stay clean, and clean up if I make a mess in the tram or at the station.
  • Under the authority of my owner, I stay away from the other travelers and dogs.
  • I do not climb on the chairs.
  • If we notice that we are an inconvenience, we switch places.
  • I do not know you, thank you for not touching me or petting me.
  • If needed, my owner must show my official documents, such as my vaccination card.

In case of non-compliance: €150 fine
