Challenging fines:

You have a legal period of three months from the date of the penalty notice to lodge a complaint. This request must be accompanied by a legible copy of the official statement of offence, must state the reasons for the complaint and must include all the supporting documents required to process the complaint.

You must lodge your objection :

- using the online form available below:
Form for contesting a penalty notice

- or in writing and sent to the postal address below:

Contestation Procès-verbaux
CS 15002
67035 STRASBOURG CEDEX 2

Reminder:

In accordance with article R.2241-8 of the Transport Code ‘It is forbidden for any person to enter an area to which access is reserved for holders of a ticket or to travel without a valid ticket completed, where appropriate, by the operations incumbent on the passenger such as stamping, validation or affixing handwritten notes. Failure to comply with the provisions of this article is punishable by a third-class fine’.

The offence is therefore defined, and the official report justified, by the fact of not being able to show a ticket on board a bus or tram during a check, for whatever reason (loss, theft, etc.).

The same applies to subscribers travelling without their Badgéo card.

For season ticket holders who are fined, the CTS may exceptionally grant a commercial gesture once a year (over a sliding 12-month period). Subscribers must lodge a complaint within three months of the date of the offence.

In the absence of payment, and in accordance with article 529-4 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure, the official report is forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office after a period of 3 months from the date on which the offence was recorded. The offender will then be liable for an increased fixed fine in accordance with the scales in force depending on the class of offence.

WHY VALIDATE YOUR TICKET?

  • Quite simply, it's the rule
  • To find out at the touch of a button whether your ticket is currently valid
  • In the event of a problem during your journey, validation can prove that you were on board one of our vehicles
  • To enable us to keep track of the number of passengers on our routes and adapt our transport offer
  • So that we can all play our part as citizens and live well together
